If you’ve flown Southwest, you’ve probably had a Stellar pretzel.

Now the brand wants a spot in your Sprouts cart, with a bag that skips the seed oils.

What’s new

According to a November 4 release from the Carson City, Nevada company, the olive oil line joins its original Pretzel Braids, which are sold at Target, Kroger and select Costco stores. The release says the new bags begin rolling out in October and reach Sprouts shelves in late October.

  • Maui Monk: Maui onion with a hint of sweetness
  • Bold & Herby: roasted garlic and onion
  • Cinnamon Dolce: cinnamon with notes of brown sugar
  • French Dijon: Dijon mustard with subtle sweetness
  • Elote Loco (new): Mexican street corn style seasoning
  • Spicy Flame (new): habanero and paprika style seasoning

The company says every variety is vegan, non-GMO and kosher, and free of artificial flavors and top allergens, including peanuts and soy.

The numbers, per Stellar

These are the company’s figures, citing the market research firm SPINS.

  • Over the last 52 weeks, Stellar’s sales in multi-outlet stores (what SPINS calls MULO) grew 205% versus the prior year
  • About 12,000 retail doors at the end of 2025, on track for roughly 18,000 by the end of 2026, which the company calls a 50% increase
  • In the four weeks ending October 4, Stellar contributed 27% of all pretzel category growth in Total U.S. Grocery

“Our Olive Oil Pretzel Braids give people more options,” Andy Yee, Stellar’s senior brand manager, said in the release.

Founder Elisabeth Galvin started out selling snacks to airlines after moving to the U.S. from France. She built Stellar with her daughter, Gina Galvin, in 2019.

Our read: seed-oil-free is now a shelf label

This is our analysis. A few years ago, seed oils were an internet argument. Now “seed-oil-free” shows up on bags in mainstream stores, and Sprouts is where a lot of those bags land first. We saw the same move with MASA’s seed oil-free tortilla chips heading to Costco. A pretzel brand already in Target and Kroger adding an olive oil line tells you the claim sells.

Reality check

Seed-oil-free describes the ingredient list. It isn’t a health claim, and it doesn’t make a pretzel a health food. Check the nutrition panel if calories or sodium matter to you. The sales and store numbers come from the company, and the release doesn’t give a price.

The close

Stellar started on Southwest tray tables.

This bag stays on the ground, at Sprouts.
