Stop using the sterilizer dryer immediately and unplug it.The WellWham perspective
The hazard
Per the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission notice (recall number 27-072, posted November 5, 2026), the recalled sterilizer dryers “can overheat when plugged in and operating, posing a risk of injury from a burn hazard if the surface is handled.”
The firm has received 32 reports of the sterilizer dryers overheating or the plastic housing melting. No injuries have been reported.
Our read: the kitchen counter just got a cut-the-cord job
This is our analysis. Bottle sterilizers sit next to the sink and run while you’re half asleep at 2 a.m. An overheating unit that can melt its own housing is the opposite of “set it and forget it.” Baby Brezza is a big name in the feeding aisle, and this one was sold at TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, Target.com and the brand site for $160 to $180. The free replacement is the useful part. The cord-cutting step is the part that makes the recall real.
Reality check
This is a CPSC recall notice for specific SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer models only. Check the bottom label before you toss a different Baby Brezza machine. Canada is running a parallel recall for about 4,500 units. Phone hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
The close
A sterilizer is supposed to keep bottles safe.
This time, unplug it, cut the cord and get the free replacement.
