Kardian's $299 Sleep Tracker Goes on Your Wall, Not Your Wrist.

Somily is a $299 wall-mounted radar disc for sleep tracking with nothing worn. Preorders ship from Nov 30. Leave the ring on the charger.

Remember when going to bed didn't require charging anything?

The ring sat on the charger again. The watch strap left a dent in your wrist. Somehow “getting a good night’s sleep” meant putting more hardware on your body first.

Somily’s pitch is the opposite. Nothing on your finger. Nothing on your wrist. Just a small disc on the wall.

What actually happened

Kardian opened $299 preorders at shop.kardian.com for Somily, a small wall-mounted radar disc, with shipping from Nov 30, 2026. Kardian says you get a full refund if you cancel before it ships.

Kardian says Somily tracks sleep, resting heart rate and breathing through your bedding, with no wearable, camera or microphone. The $299 price includes two years of Kardian Max, which Kardian says is normally $6 a month.

The ring can stay on the charger. The WellWham perspective

Our read: sleep tracking keeps leaving the wrist

This is our read. Wearables won by living on your body. Somily is betting some of us are done charging a ring or cinching a band just to learn how we slept.

A fixed wall sensor with a clear $299 price and a shipping date is easier to judge than another vague “coming soon” radar demo. Hospital radar heritage is a brand story. It is not proof this consumer disc works like a clinic sensor.

The reality check

Somily is a preorder wellness tracker, not an FDA-cleared device. It does not diagnose conditions, and it is not a medical alarm.

Kardian’s FDA-cleared XK300 Essence is a separate hospital sensor, so that clearance does not carry over here. Kardian says Somily may qualify for HSA or FSA funds. Check with your plan first.

The close

The ring can stay on the charger.

Whether you trust a $299 disc on the wall more than a dent on your wrist is the next decision.
